daily acts of rural resistance, I made a decision this year that whenever I teach or participate in a community event I will wear pro union/anti ice/pro Palestine/antifascist SOMETHING alongside my usual expressions of liberatory politics. playing the rural roulette of potential hate crime is scary, but if we can’t advocate now when will we?
a reminder that the resistance is an ongoing daily fight. some days are more mundane than others, and that’s okay. don’t apologize for having principles. don’t comply in advance. comport yourself with a “bitch come make me” attitude whenever possible.
keep building community. if I can find fellow lefties out in the pensyltucky armpit, we still have a fighting chance.
